A multi-disciplinary design language and its use with artificial intelligence for innovation

This research explores how a workflow be developed to allow for design co-creation, entity mapping, the discovery of analogous question-solution pairs across disciplines based on ideation synthesis through the generation of invention and innovation utilising a Multi-disciplinary Design Language (MDL) and artificial intelligence (AI). This project focuses on the development of a tool that allows users to generate new designs and ideas. This tool will consist of a visual design language, interactive interface and generative software as a back end. This outcome is achieved with the development of (1) a multi-disciplinary design language (MDL) in pictorial form (hierarchical graph and block diagram, refer to Figure 4), (2) with a user interface (3) that utilises AI systems, in particular artificial neural nets.
