Chorus is a series of three sonic sculptures which have varying haptic qualities and respond with electronically generated sound. Created by Daniel Della-Bosca, Andrew R Brown, and John Ferguson, the objects combine digital design\/fabrication (3D printing) with software-driven and electronically tactile interactive sonic behaviors (DIY electronic sound). The works explore human-machine interfaces and encourage tactile interaction. In short, the Chorus work is a series of tactile sculptural objects with unique sonic behaviors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall goal of the work is to query and comment upon the often-tacit relationship between form, material and sonic behavior. The exhibit reflects on a world increasing inhabited with automated and artificially intelligent devices. Another clear agenda is to further develop interconnections between contemporary practices such as additive manufacturing processes and computational creativity in microelectronics. In sounding a sculptural object this project raises open-ended ideas around interactivity and object behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
